As of January 2018, I am now the owner/operator of toot.cat, a Mastodon instance with a few hundred users.
As of mid-2017, I seem to have crossed over to being more active on Mastodon (mainly toot.cat) than Google+
- It's really nice to feel like my posts aren't somehow contributing to the plutonomy.
- I'm also looking for alternatives that more closely approximate G+/FB.
- Hubzilla is looking pretty good but needs more people. (If you're on Diaspora or Friendica, federate with me!)
I do still occasionally post on Facebook and even #birdsite.
