* The software proceeds apace! The piece I needed most immediately (DBA, for DataBase Administrator), is now (as of yesterday) finally able to do imports (at least locally). I used it to import the VbzCart database onto my work laptop so I could get back to working on that.
* I'm setting up a replacement for Statler, our home web/file server. The {{l/htw|Inventory/SYSBD005|first system board I tried}} was unhappy, so now I'm trying another one (which apparently hasn't been inventoried? will have to check on that when I get home).

What I've Been Up to Lately

Computery Stuff

  • The software proceeds apace! The piece I needed most immediately (DBA, for DataBase Administrator), is now (as of yesterday) finally able to do imports (at least locally). I used it to import the VbzCart database onto my work laptop so I could get back to working on that.

Mainly I've been working on a software project that's probably a bit arcane; the short version is that I need some tools to help me manage web sites better -- and even though there are a lot of existing tools for this, they don't work well for the way I think, so I'm writing some tools that do. See wooz:Latest for details.

TootCat continues to operate (mostly) smoothly and receive a lot of positive comments (and new users), thanks in large part to our diligent tech and moderation volunteers. I don't thank them enough...

The SPF has been mostly languishing, but recently received a quite hefty donation (by my standards) which should be good for several months at least.
