Now many many years ago as a lab employee
I started on a PDP 11/23
The lab soon modernized a bit and got Turbo Pascal
I started using that and it sure helped with my morale

This soon gave me some interest in writing my own code
But trying to make money there was really quite a load
To complicate the matter in a way I can't forget
There soon became this thing that people call the internet

I started using email and it really made things better
With nearly-instant transfer there's no waiting for a letter
Then suddenly the world wide web arrived upon the stage
I purchased hosting from MindSpring and made my own web page

Soon after that I started hosting on my own machine
With web, email and database, it really was quite keen
And every time I think of this it kind of makes me stop
As admin of my server box, I am my own sysop
